Kansas DOC Grants
Posted 8/17/2020
Late last week, the Kansas Department of Commerce announced an opportunity to apply for several new grants available primarily to businesses owned and/or operated in the state of Kansas. A detailed description, including eligibility information, for each of these ten available grants is available on the Kansas DOC COVID-19 Relief Center.
Of the ten grants currently available, we expect the three most popular will be:
- Small Business Working Capital Grant
- Securing Local Food Systems Grant
- PPE Procurement Grant
Certain eligibility requirements are specific to the purpose of a grant; however, general eligibility requirements for the three grants listed above are either a for-profit or not-for-profit business owned and/or operated in the state of Kansas with $350,000 or less in prior COVID-19-related local, state, and/or federal funding (although businesses may submit an appeal regarding this eligibility requirement). Businesses are eligible to apply for more than one grant; however, a separate application must be completed for each grant.
All applications will be submitted through the Kansas DOC COVID-19 Relief Center. At this point, DRAFT applications are available; however, the portal to submit completed applications will not open until Wednesday, August 19 at noon.
We encourage you to review the information regarding these ten grants on the Kansas DOC web site and consider whether applying for one or more of these grants makes sense for your business. Consistent with other similar grant programs, we expect the funds for this program will be exhausted quickly, so if you are intending to apply, we encourage you to apply as quickly as possible.
If you have any questions regarding this program, please reach out to your SJHL advisor.
Thank you ,
