Jul 31, 2014

Chancey Buchman Lehman is the sister of Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd's Managing Partner, Chet Buchman. Chancey is a 31 year old wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend with Cystic Fibrosis and is looking for her "2nd Chance" and you can help.

Chancey Lehman and her daughter CutlerChancey is the younger sister of SJHL's Managing Partner, Chet Buchman. She currently lives in Florida with her husband Cason and beautiful daughter Cutler. Chancey was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was 17 years old.

Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that causes thick, sticky mucus build up in the lungs, digestive tract, and other areas of the body. CF is the most chronic lung diseases in children and young adults and is a life-threatening disorder. Chancey is currently living her life with 26% lung function and has a small window of opportunity for a lung transplant.

When Chancey was diagnosed with CF, that did not stop her from fulfilling her dreams. She went on to play soccer at a junior college, help others as a respiratory therapist, marry her long time crush, and have a beautiful daughter named Cutler.

With everything Chancey is going through, she has kept a positive attitude through it all and is extremely grateful for all the support and love she and her family have received.

"I have really been struggling to find the words to adequately express my sincere gratitude to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and generosity. I have read each comment and take each word of encouragement to heart, I am truly honored." said Chancey on Facebook. Chancey went on to say, "I intend to personally thank each and every one of you after the rehabilitation of the precious gift of my 2nd Chance, but in the meantime, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Chancey has been tested to be put on the list for a double lung transplant and received the call on June 27th that she officially made the list! Without a transplant, Chancey's struggle to breathe will continue to increase. There is a medicine called Kalydeco that is currently in the trial stages and has been helping people with CF but it doesn't appear to be an option for Chancey.
