Jan 11, 2013

Courtney Rierson, CPASwindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC has yet another accountant participating in the Kansas Society of CPAs "20 up to 40" Leadership Program. The KSCPA selects twenty certified public accountants from all over the state to participate, and SJHL's Courtney Rierson, CPA has been selected for the 2013 class.

The "20 up to 40" Program was created to help members of the KSCPA up to the age of 40 develop their leadership skills by studying major leadership philosophies. It is meant to help accountants apply these skills not only to their professional life, but their personal life as well. Additionally, it provides young professionals with the opportunity to network, socialize, and learn from fellow colleagues and facilitators as well as bring vision, ideas and strategies to the KSCPA. SJHL is proud to have Courtney among this group of professionals and leaders.

Courtney is a Senior Staff Accountant that has been with SJHL since 2008 and received her CPA designation in 2011. Her areas of concentration include audits, reviews and compilations for construction companies as well as audits for not-for-profits. She also does tax preparation for businesses and individuals along with small business consulting.

The 2013 program consists of four sessions over the course of the entire year. It starts this month and is focusing on legislative awareness and understanding the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. The participants will visit the Board of Accountancy, State House, Department of Revenue, Senate and will host the 5th Annual KSCPA Legislative Reception at The Upstage Gallery in Topeka. The program will end in November with participation in the leadership summit at the KSCPA's Annual Meeting.
