SJHL Experiences The Lion King

Oct 2, 2012

You do not have to travel to New York to see Broadway shows with amazing talent! Disney's The Lion King has been at Century II in Wichita the month of September and many Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC staff members and their families took in the show.LaQuita Geis' granddaughter Emily Loy (pictured left) is clearly going to be a star! The sold out show has been a huge success since it first hit Broadway in 1997. The musical garnered 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It is produced by Disney Theatrical.

The show is so grand that it uses the entire theater. The opening act includes elephants, birds and other animals traveling from the back of the theater all the way to the stage while singing the popular song "Circle of Life."The story's plot is loosely based on Shakespeare's Hamlet; however, talking animals makes any story better.

Other SJHL staff that attended with their families were Johnna Vosseller, Vicki Courtney, LaQuita Geis, Courtney Rierson, Scot Loyd, Sarah Buehrle and Jenny Lang. With photography not being allowed during the show, we unfortunately do not have many pictures to share.
