Relay Team Hard at Work

Banners at parade
Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd's Relay for Life team was hard at work again last Friday, May 11th raising money for the cause. Those of you familiar with McPherson know that last Friday was All Schools Day, which meant many businesses were closed and a county wide parade took place that morning. SJHL took this opportunity to team up with Peoples Bank & Trust to sell food during the parade. All the proceeds will go to their respective Relay for Life Teams.

The SJHL group consisted of Kala Bruce and her daughter Taylor, Vicki Courtney and her daughter Kori and Jenny Lang. They set up in the Peoples Bank drive thru area between the two businesses. Peoples Bank sold hot dogs and Bratwursts with homemade sauerkraut, while SJHL sold chips and beverages. It was perfect weather for a parade, so business was good!

Overall, SJHL raised just over $100 for their Relay for Life team. Not too shabby for $.50 chips and $1 pops! See you at the Relay in Wall Park beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 1st!
