Buchman to Speak on Family-Owned Business

The family enterprise is the backbone of the American economy, yet only 30% are sustained into the second generation and 10% into the third generation. A seminar titled "The Family Business Enterprise: Flourishing through Transition" will take place Thursday, April 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Salina Country Club. This seminar will address how the family business can successfully transition from one generation to the next.

Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd's Chet Buchman will be one of six presenters at the seminar. Other speakers include Clem Ast, Stacy Gear and John Simmering of Legasus Group and Ben Foster and Mike Foster of Twin Valley Telephone. Attendees will learn the four key elements of an effective family business transition, the role of governance in supporting the family ownership vision, the role of financial and estate planning, along with other tips in helping the family business thrive.
