SJHL encourages participation in the United Way by offering employees an easy way to make donations through payroll. A couple of dollars per paycheck can add up and help with all of the great programs the United Way helps fund. Some of these programs are Big Brothers Big Sisters, STEPMC, Summer Lunch Program, Preschool Scholarships, YMCA, Special Olympics and the 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Program. Taylor Bruce, daughter of SJHL's Kala Bruce, also spoke at the luncheon to provide more details about the 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Program. Taylor, now a 4th grader at Eisenhower Elementary, talked about what she took away from her experience of being in the Program and the important skills she learned.
