SJHL Firm-Wide Summit

Jul 10, 2011

Kyle, Scot, Sue, Luke, Carol and Sarah listing their greatest achievements.Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, LLC spent two days last week focusing on our strategic plan for the coming year in a firm-wide summit. The summit was hosted at the Opera House and was facilitated by Sandra Wiley with Boomer Consulting out of Manhattan, KS. Boomer Consulting specializes in consulting for accounting firms and SJHL has had a great working relationship with them for many years. Some might call this planning session a retreat, but as Wiley put it, the word "retreat" sounds like you are going backwards. On the other hand, the word "summit" has been defined as, "the highest attainable level of achievement," which is what we want for ourselves and our clients. Although we did discuss some of our past achievements, both personally and firm-wide, most conversations revolved around where we want to go and how we are going to get there.

Sandra Wiley discussing our objectives.
Each staff member attended the summit and were encouraged to offer opinions and ideas for the coming year. SJHL revisited our core values, objectives, vision statement, mission statement and goals, then made adjustments where necessary. We discussed the needs of the firm, each staff member, and most importantly, the needs of our clients. We  are constantly looking for how best to service our clients, and this summit was another example of how SJHL is "More Than Just Numbers."

We look forward to growing with you and implementing our new ideas. Providing our clients great value in the services we offer, as well as in the way we offer them, is something we have taken very seriously over the past 75 years, and will continue to do so in the coming years.
